FROM MONTHLY MEETING::
- Monthly Meeting wholeheartedly approved a minute accepting Tristan Athearn-Hess into adult membership! A formal time of welcoming is to be announced.
- Ministry and Counsel will purchase another case of "Worship in Song" hymnals. Friends, wishing to purchase their own copy, should contact Gretchen Baker-Smith.
- Because Jean Kennison's memorial service was held so soon following her death, and that several Westport Friends were also not able to attend the service, Ministry and Counsel is considering a time of remembrance for Jean on First Day, November 10th. More details to follow.
- Booksale Committee: Plans are underway to explore the cost of replacing our worn tent Friends are needed to help sort and price books throughout the year. (Speak with Deana or Stewart.) Please save Sunday, Oct 10th after meeting for a special book sorting and pricing work-afternoon. Your help is needed!
- Mark and Eliza Miley, our Friends In Residence, have agreed to continue in their position for another year, possibly two.
- Though several bids were solicited from local building contractors, only one proposal was returned. Monthly Meeting preferred not to move foreword without having more bids to consider. Buddy Baker-Smith will solicit more bids from contractors beyond our local area.
- Property Committee: A new replacement of the mower-tractor is being considered Meeting Clean-up Day will be Oct. 31 after meeting. Thanks to Mark Miley and Tim Gillespie, the Residence has new hardwood floors installed on the first floor. Thank you Mark and Tim! The area carpet in the Community House living room will be replaced soon
